Recently I was looking at one of those celebrity car sites, and was struck by the fact that none of the people listed were famous.
I have always considered the “Golden Age” of car design to be the period of the 1920’s and 30’s. Sure, the 1950’s were great, but true custom car design was at its peak during the time of the great coachbuilders, and the most flamboyant of the lot were the French.
Every few weeks or so, someone with a rich uncle decides to create a new car. Some of them make it to full fledged brands, and some come and go with the tide. The ones listed here are obscure cars from the last few years. Some are street legal, some sold only oversees and some are strictly race cars. Take a look and see what names you recognize.

This week I started to notice a trend happening with Chris on Cars, where every new user lives in Russia. Once I started checking, I realized that more than half of my readers were from Russia. So, I assume that makes me a celebrity there.
